Who are We?
In the spring of 2019, Western New England University announced the addition of Women’s Ice Hockey, which will begin NCAA DIII competition in 2020-2021. It is an extremely exciting time to be involved in women’s ice hockey - at the youth level, girls hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. There are more and more highly competitive, experienced female hockey players who aim to play hockey in college. Building a program at the NCAA level is an important and exciting step in growing the game and creating more opportunities for women to participate in varsity athletics.
Whereas existing programs have alumni, player families, and long-time supporters already established in their fundraising networks, Western New England University is asking for your help in raising funds to support the new Women's Ice Hockey program. We're asking you to become the foundation of support - help establish a legacy of giving that will further our program's mission for years to come. WNE Women’s Ice Hockey will rely on fundraising to supplement our budget in areas such as ice time, recruiting, team travel, and equipment.
The mission of NCAA Division III athletics is to provide “an environment in which a student-athlete’s athletics activities are conducted as an integral part of the student-athlete’s educational experience.” You can help provide the means to ensure a positive, well-rounded, and meaningful experience for the Women’s Ice Hockey players at WNE.
